How to Make Hair Removal Wax

How to Make Hair Removal Wax at Home
1 cup (250ml) granulated sugar
1 cup (250ml) honey
1/2 cup (125 ml) lemon juice

Making the Wax

Melt the sugar. In a medium, heavy saucepan, add the sugar and cook over medium-high heat, without stirring—just an occasional swirl of the pan—until the sugar begins to caramelize. This will smell delicious.

Stir in the honey and lemon juice with a wooden spoon. Be careful: the sugar will be very foamy, and very hot.

Continue stirring until the mixture has melted and has the consistency of pancake batter. If the mixture is too thick, add water 1 tablespoon at a time until you have the right consistency.

Store any leftover wax in the refrigerator. It should keep for a couple of weeks in the refrigerator, or a couple months in the freezer.

For your homemade sugar wax you will first need 200g of sugar, a tablespoon of honey, water and some lemon juice. You may also need some strips of cotton to use for the waxing process. After mixing all these ingredients you have to heat them for about two minutes. Of course, you need to let the mixture cool down to a temperature that can be supported by your skin, but this type of wax has to be used when it is not completely cold yet.

Another recipe for natural sugar wax includes ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of honey and ½ cup of lemon juice. All these ingredients have to be placed into the microwave and heated for about 3 to 4 minutes.

  • How to Make Wax at Home
  • Ingredients
  • Sugar 1 cup
    Sour lime 1
  • Method
  • Melt the sugar, taking care that it does not stick. Keep stirring until you see it melting and start adding the juice of lime. When you see it foaming and becoming thicker, remove it from the heat and allow cooling. Apply only when warm, as hot wax can burn the skin badly.
  • Smooth the wax on the skin in the direction of the hair growth with a flat blunt knife. Let it set. Then take a strip of cloth, press it well on the wax-covered skin and strip it off in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  • Make sure that before waxing, your skin is absolutely dry. If necessary, dust it with talcum powder. After waxing sponge off with warm water to which an antiseptic is added to prevent any infection or rash. Also, rub on cold cream or any other soothing lotion or lavender oil. The few straggly hair that remains can easily be plucked off or removed by threading.
